Why This Site Exists
San Marcos does not keep every people-related record at City Hall. The San Diego County Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk holds deeds, liens, property information, and many certificate functions. San Diego Superior Court runs the party-name case index. The Registrar of Voters controls voter data under California law, while state agencies keep business, license, privacy, and statewide vital-record systems. Libraries and archives preserve the older trails. We bring the relevant search tools, office contacts, and access limits into one local reference.
What Is Collected Here
- Record-focused pages: public records, voter registration records, and people directories
- Custodian contacts: ARCC, the court clerk, assessor, elections office, vital-record offices, and San Marcos City Clerk
- Practical search paths: court party searches, property-owner research, and library directory collections
- Access boundaries: what California law opens, what remains restricted, and how to ask for records that are not online
Limits of Our Role
This is a privately operated reference site. We are not part of the City of San Marcos, San Diego County, the State of California, any court, or any records custodian. Those boundaries mean:
- We do not retrieve, certify, amend, or release records for a reader
- We cannot verify that a named person currently lives in San Marcos
